Antique Baphuon Style Bronze Vishnu Statue - Protector & Preserver - 25cm/10"
Measurements Height 25cm/10"
An antique Baphuon style bronze Vishnu sculpture. Vishnu is both world protector and preserver, restorer of moral order - he is all-powerful and all-pervasive by nature.
The Vishnu embodies authority with its iconic downcast gaze and large unexpressive face. The general silhouette is heavier. His braided hair is dressed in a quatrefoil shaped jatamukuta held in place by a jewelled band.
The casting is beautiful as you can see in the fine details of the face. Each detail is rendered perfectly. The features suggest the prana, or inner breath, that signifies superhuman power.
The Vishnu is loose mounted on a wood base.
The perfect traditional in appearance Vishnu to bring serenity and timeless style to you home, office or sacred space.
