Antique Khmer Style Southeast Asia Bronze Hand - 22cm/9"
Measures (Height) 22cm/9"
An antique Khmer style hand from Cambodia. The fingers are posed in the Teaching or dharmachakra mudra. A symbol of wisdom or teaching with the finger and thumb held together.
This Teaching gesture or dharmachakra mudra refers to the 'Wheel of Dharma'. This mudra symbolises one of the most important moments in the life of Buddha, the occasion when he preached to his companions the first sermon after his Enlightenment in the Deer Park at Sarnath. It therefore denotes the setting into motion of the Wheel of the teaching of the Dharma.
In this mudra the thumb and index finger touch at their tips to form a circle. This circle represents the Wheel of Dharma, or in metaphysical terms, the union of method and wisdom.
A mandala, symbol of meditation and serenity, can be seen on the palm.
The mandala is a sacred and intricate geometric design that holds profound meaning and spiritual significance in Buddhism. This symbolic representation is not merely a piece of art but a powerful tool for meditation, spiritual growth, and understanding the cosmos.
The hand is freestanding.
This traditional in appearance piece is sure to add serenity to your home, office or sacred space.

Madhu Purnima is more than a Buddhist holiday; it is a celebration of the universal values of generosity, harmony, and gratitude.
By reflecting on the story of the Buddha, the monkey, and the monks, we are reminded of the importance of selflessness and unity in our lives.
